Stan, you're the best!

I'm home, and I have to write now because Tyler didn't sign the contract in time for the internet access, and they cut the line...

I went to see Stan, my best friend, yesterday. He's working at the airport in Geneva, and he was staying at his girlfriend's aunt house. He went to pick me up at the station, and we went to buy some beers and pizzas. He proposed to go at the house and watch a film together. I prefered to go there than to go in a bar, it's nicer to talk. We went there, and he showed me the flat... wow! It's situated in a very expensive neighbourhood, it's the district where all the diplomats and UNO VIPs live. The aunt of his girlfriend is married to a retired diplomat, and he obviously has a lot of money, I never saw anything that big before! And they have things that they brought from all over the world, it's not really nicely organised, but it's interesting.

It was also two girls from Zürich that live in rooms they rent in the flat. So we had to speak german... I came back from Basel looking forward to speak french again, and here they are! The swiss-germans are everywhere :) He immediatly asked about the "girl of Zürich" and I said we would speak about it later when we were going to be alone. He told me about crazy things that happened to him, and that it was a damn bad week, and other things. We began to watch the film with the girls, drinking some beers, and finally they went out. So we were alone, and he turned over, and said "ok, let's go now, tell me, I can't wait anymore!" and I was a bit uncomfortable, I had prepared myself to say that, and prepared what I would say, but at this moment I couldn't remember anything, and was trying to find my words. And he said "come on, I'm ready to hear anything!" and I said "hum... really? anything? to what extent?" and he said "as far as you want, anyway, I think I know what it is about, so just tell me, don't be affraid" and I said "ok, so, it's nothin really big, but it could suprise you, it's only that it's not a girl, it's a guy..."

He didn't seemed that much suprised, stayed silent for a moment, and said that he knew it was that, he understood when I said I wanted to tell him in person, and that it was totally ok. We talked about it for a while, and I said how much I was affraid that he would be uncomfortable about it because of his father, and how much I cared about our friendship, and he said that nothing could take us appart. He also said that he never suspected me to be gay, but that since we met each other, he noticed that I was different from his other male friends, and that it was what he liked about me, and that I was his closest friend and that he was so happy to have me.

God, I was so happy, really, it was as if I was radiating happiness. I didn't expect the things to be so easy, and I was so affraid that it would change our relationship. I went home, and on the way back I texted to say how glad and relieved I was to have told him, and that he was an extraordinary friend, and he answered "as long as you're happy, that's all I care about, I'm so lucky to have you as a friend". I'm the one that is lucky! He's the best friend ever (and probably the best looking guy I have ever met, but that's another story...)

So, see you next week when the internet trouble will be fixed up! I will also meet Erik next week, and we will have a talk, have a thought for me, whatever it happens.

How considerate of him to ask about "the girl from Zürich" when the others were there!

I'm glad it went so well.

I hope things go well with Erik.

Such good news, Charlie! Yes, it seemed from what you said that he was a good friend, and that this would not bother him. I'm glad it went so well. :)

Thinking and praying for you with the Eric situation.

None of my friends cared that I was gay, but that's one of the reasons Stan likes you. That's so assuring.
