Over the clouds

I'm back from my training flight. The weather was not that great, it was really grey and foggy, but we found a little blue hole in the clouds and could climb on top. Wow, so fantastic, perfectly blue sky, and visibility without limits. It was a nice flight, and the landings were ok, the last one was bumpy though :P

One scary thing happened though: as it was very cold, I couldn't feel my fingers anymore, and when checking the oil tank, I didn't closed it properly, so in an hour we lost all the oil... one hour more and we would have been short of oil, wich leads to engine failure :S Lucky me! It was oil all over the plane, and I had to clean it, now I can just slip in my jacket, it's totally lubrificated :D I'll check it twice next time. It was also very cold, -5°c in the cockpit!!! I have some financial issues, so I had to fly a very cheap plane, a Piper L4 from 1944, it's a bit like a bicycle of the air compared to what I was used to fly... but it's one of my favourite planes.

Yesterday went fine with the Turkish family. Everything went fine, and Yasmin's mother was so astonished, she kept saying I was as perfect as a girl :D after that she started to try to arrange a marriage with one of her nieces... I said I was deeply sorry but that I could find one myself. She couldn't stop to pinch my cheeks and kiss me, it was a bit embarassing after a moment... my cheeks were red at the end of the meal!

I go to have meal before the rest of the programm. Tommorow evening we are invited by my mother's boyfriend in one of the best restaurants of the town. He let us the choice (with my sister) to go to his place or to this restaurant, we said the restaurant of course :) it's not everyday that we are invited in such places!

See you and have a nice weekend!

Mongolians revere the sky as a symbol of freedom and liberty, a sign of open plains. Therefore, the color blue is very special to them; it is almost sacred in a way. I remember seeing a lot of blue cloths on prayer poles on stupas (places that house Buddhist relics). I am glad the sky is also special to you. ^_^

Hey, I want that Turkish mother. LOL! Though, she wouldn't have to hook me up with anyone. :P

Correction here too... she was trying to hook me up with girls, of course...

Apart from the oil problem and the cold, I'm sure it was great to be flying again.

With that and Yasmin's family and your mother's bf, it sounds like a pretty good several days.
