The next stupid idea
Here we are, the letter is in the mailbox, it's nothing I can do to take it back this time! I'm really tense now, and will be untill Maria says anything. This was the next stupid idea! I'm thinking of that all the time and can't concentrate anymore on my work... Anyway, this had to be done. And then, I guess, it will be easier to tell my other friends.

you did well, it might be hard, but like a salami, this will slice by slice thin out your true friends from the not so true...simply because true friends love you for who you are and not for who they expect you to be for them...

I'm eager to hear how Maria reacted to your letter. I hope you don't regret having written it and sending it. It gave you a chance to organize your thoughts, and it gives Maria a chance to consider what she wants to say in response before she replies. Neither of these would have been possible had you approached her about it in person. I have come out to friends in the mail, too, but mostly because they were long distance. You'll find that in the future you'll be able to come out to friends without having to write a letter. And you'll find that, although it may not get a whole lot easier, it will be a less "dramatic" situation.
In any case, congratulations on coming out! Keep on blogging because you have readers "rooting for you" to be out and happy.
