I'm on holiday now, and I found a little job for a few days, I have to carry some people from one airport to another by plane, and also to make some panoramic flights for the good customers of a big firm. That's great as I am paid for the hours I fly. I told you that this week the weather was crap and that it wasn't going to change... I opened my shutters this morning, and what I saw was heavy rain, low grey clouds, the kind of weather that is perfect for a sunday morning, when you can go back to bed without feeling guilty. So I checked the forecast on the internet, and I called the man I'm working for and told him that it was impossible to take off at least until midday, and that I would call back later. Finally I went back to bed, and everything went like a rainy sunday morning :)
I called back at twelwe, it wasn't much better, but he had many customers that were waiting and told me that it would be really great if I could come, even for a single flight for he wanted to impress a customer in order to make him sign a very important contract. I checked the weather again and it seemed that I could at least fly untill there. So I went to the aiport, prepared the plane, and took off. The clouds where very low, it was raining, and I had to make some zig-zags in order to avoid the showers. I finally landed around 2 pm. The weather was going worse there, and it was impossible to take off again. I had to tell the business man to cancel the flights. I waited for any improvement, because I wanted to go home. Finally, at 4 pm it was a little slot in the clouds and I could take off and head toward home.
Ten minutes before arriving, I tried to contact the airport, but nobody answered, and when I came close to it I saw it was under a heavy fog, and that a thunderstorm was arriving. I can tell you that it is really impressive to see from the sky! I had to divert to another airport, and land there. I called the tower in my home town and they said that the aiport was closed due to the weather...

So I was stuck in an airport far from home, far from any town, and there was nobody around! I said "fuck! what a day! no flights, wich means no money, and now I'm stuck in the middle of nowhere!" I called some friends and nobody could come and take me with a car (it is about one hour from where I live by car). The only thing to do was to take an umbrella, and to walk under the rain for about one hour to catch a train. I was seated in the cockpit, thinking how boring it was, and suddenly, I saw a man that was pulling a plane out of a hangar. I went to see if I could help him. When I came around the plane, I saw that it was a young guy, he looked at me and said "Hi!" I answered the same, and he said "You're Charlie right?". I was really surprised, I wondered how he could know that! And he said "Don't you remember me?" I looked at his face, I'm normally remember all the faces, but his did not came to my mind immediatly, but after a few seconds I remembered. It was one of my best friends when I was a bit younger, the last time I saw him was twelve years ago!
It was really nice to see him after all this time, we had a long talk, and it was amazing to see he was a pilot too! He also was in the air force, just one year after me, at the same place, and did exactly the same things! I looked at his logbook and it was all the stranger that we had flown exactly at the same places, with the same planes, but him from this airport, and I from the one that is located in my town. It is as if we had lived during twelve years in parallel universes. It turned out that we had a lot of things in common.
He finally brought me home by car, because he lives just 20 minutes away, and I took his number so that we won't wait another twelwe years to see each other again. It was really amazing! What a luck! :D

Hmmm...rekindling old flames??? jk man, lol. yeah, that would suck majorly to be that far from home. everything happens for a reason, though...your getting stuck there had a definite purpose.
Hehe, he changed a lot during these twelve years, and not in a bad direction :P Who knows, we have such a similar life he could even be gay :) Anyway, it was great to see him.
Wow, what a great coincidence. Maybe with every negative something positive happens. Must be fun to see some old faces.
