Seaplane ride

Another of my dreams came true this afternoon :) I had been dreaming for a very long time to fly in a seaplane, but you can't do it in Switzerland, and the nearest place where you can is the lake Como in Italy. But today, some guys came from abroad with three seaplanes, and had a special clearance to land on the lake Geneva, wich is normally totally forbidden. I jumped on the opportunity, and could find a place in a 1958 De Havilland Beaver (probably the dream of every seaplane pilot) and it was awesome!

The flight in itself was not quite different from what I'm used to (appart the beautiful roaring sound of the 450 HP motor in front of us, nothing to compare with the 65 HP I have in front of mine!), but to take off and land on the water was a fun experience!

And this time, as a passenger, I had all the time to take pictures and look around (I wouldn't dare to complain though :)

I especially like the picture from above.

That must have been really enjoyable.

Was there some sort of special event for them to get the permission, or are they very important people, or did they just ask nicely?

I think that it was a little bit of everything :)

That looks amazing - I saw these planes in Bergen, but they were out of my price range.
