The weather was awesome yesterday. I was on the balcony, looking at the planes taking off over my house, and the temptation became too strong. I left what I was doing, took my phone, called some friends, and I went to the airport. I met a team of friends, and I proposed to fly and have a drink on another aiport. We prepared four aircraft, and the flying squadron was ready to go!
We took off when the sun was already low, the light was beautiful, slighty golden. Once all the aircraft were in the air, I took the leader position (as I was flying the slowest plane) and the other planes came around, it was a beautiful formation. My friend that was in front told me that it was a shame that nobody had a camera, but I had one :) and that's the result:
I love these days, it's so cool when you are with friends, doing what you love, having fun... We stopped for a quick drink on a small aerodrome, and took off again. Once in the air, we were told by the control tower that it was a strong crosswind (wich is really bad when you're flying, it's very difficult to land correctly, especially with an old plane, because the wind pushes you away from the runway). I was the last plane to land, the three others went fine, the last one told me "hey man, watch out, it's interesting". It was almost perfect, but I touched down a bit hard, the plane bounced once, and a wind gust pushed the plane away, we stopped in the grass, withouth any damage, fortunately.
It happens to every old-plane pilot, but it's always a shame. Well, one round of beer for everyone, and it was forgotten! What remain is the beautiful time we had in flight, the sweet feeling of the air supporting us among the clouds, and the sensation of having been for a few hours out of the time.

Those pics are amazing!! It looks so beautiful and carefree! Keep flying Charlie, keep flying. :)
Flying a plane must be so awesome. I've only ever been in commercial jet liners and they normally fly too high to really be able to see anything.
It is awesome, really! If you have never done it, you should try once in a little airlplane, it's totally different.
Tanks Aek, I'll keep flying as long as I can! :)
