Home for the weekend

I am already home for the weekend. I have no lesson tomorrow so it is no use to stay on friday. I finally found the person who's in charge of the exchange students, and took an appointement this afternoon. I went to his office and he asked what he could do for me, I explaind that I was a bit lost and had no information about the lessons I had to attend, no e-mail adress, that I didn't know anything about how many exams I will have to do there etc... I had a lot of questions, but he couldn't say me anything else that what I already know, that means almost nothing. He told me to go to see another person to get, at least, an internet access so I can access to the main server and download some documents I must have for the courses.

As I have no e-mail I have no information on anything, and I was really upset this morning because they exchanged the classrooms, and I came for a lesson that was supposed to be in this classroom, and I entered and saw that it was no-one I had already seen, and sat down next to a guy. I took all my law codes from my bag, and he looked at me in a strange way. I looked at the powerpoint-slide that was already on the screen, and it was written in german "Man is not a camel" with the subtitle "Minerals in the corporal fluids, effects of the perspiration". So I asked the guy, and it turned out that it was a physiology lesson. I was really pissed, it's the second time that it happens to me. So I missed an important lesson, again.

Yesterday, as I had nothing to do and was not in a really good mood, I went to see a friend of mine that studies in Zürich, the biggest city of Switzerland. He is in the same year as me, and also is in exchange. But everything is organised there, they had a welcome drink, they were informed about many things etc... And for a moment I regretted not to have gone to the same place as him. But I guess that it's better no to be with other people that speaks the same language, so you don't have the choice to learn the new language. But I'm really surprised to see that nothing was planned in the university I am now to welcome the exchange students, or at least give some information.

On a brighter note, the american roommate came back, but left again this morning for a trip in Europe. He's really nice and funny. He's a bit shy. He came back on tuesday just a few moments before I began to cook for myself. He just said hello and went to his room, but as soon as I started to cook I heard that he oppened his door, and he came to sneak into the kitchen through the door. He said "It's smells like food! what are you cooking, it smells so good!" and we started to talk and it was really nice to have somebody to talk and laugh with. He's from california, he's really tall, not far from 2 meters I think, and well built, not unpleasant to see ;) I'm a bit disappointed that he left again, but he will be back within 10 days.

I also talked with three people today, and more or less understood what they said. But again they were not really friendly, they just kindly answered my questions, but never tried to go further. It's difficult when you don't speak very well... I think that I will have two or three more rough weeks, but then I hope it will be nice and funny.

Sounds like a little bit of progress. That's good. Probably also good to be able to get away from the stress for a few days.

WTF is up with your university? I would just yell at them if I was in your shoes.

Do you know the background story of your American roommate? Why does he travel so much? What is the point of having an apartment if you are just traveling all the time? You don't have to answers those questions btw. At least he is pleasant to look at.
