Hi guys!
I had a wonderful time up there in the north. I started my trip in Copenhagen, the capital of Denmark. I had booked a bed in a youth hostel, in the hope to make some acquantances there because I was by myself. I did, there was some decent guys in my room with whom I could hang out on the evenings. I met a californian teacher, a student in architecture from Malaysia, and three belgium beer drinkers.
Colourful Copenhagen
Nyhavn, one of the most touristic spot in the city. I had the most expensive beer ever there! Almost 12$ for half a liter!!!
Copenhagen after the rain
I visited the city on daytime, and went out with them at night. There was a lot to to and I only had three days, I couldn't do all that I wanted, but almost. I also took the train to see the Louisiana museum, a modern art museum facing the sea. I enjoyed it very much. Thanks to one of my readers that gave me the advice ;)
The Calder garden in Louisiana, with a nice view on the Øresund. The land on the second plan is Sweden.
The night before leaving, I went to see the opening ceremony of the "world out games", the gay olympiads. It was really short, not so fun, and under the rain... but there was a lot of fit guys, and I got a lot of indecent propositions... I was pretty much tempted, but I was with this malaysian guy and didn't know how to drop him, it wouldn't have been very nice. I didn't take any pictures, but I can tell you that there are so many hotties up there, oh my god, I want to live in the north! I love the blond guys and there were so many of them... I was as excited as a Jack Russel in a sausage factory!
I woke up early the day after, and left for Sweden. I took the train until Helsingør, and took the ferry-boat to cross and reach Helsinborg on the Swedish side. It's only a few kilometers.
Elsenor Castle, where Hamlet's plot took place
I took another train and then a bus to reach the small seaside village where some cousins where waiting for me. I was used to go there in the summer when I was a child, and the last time I went was when I was 14. But I was surprised to see that nothing had changed, appart from my cousins (one girl, 20yo, and one boy, 15yo, typical swedish, blond with blue eyes, fit, with a good temper and an adorable smile). I was nice to see them again!
There is nothing to do in the village, appart from going to the sea and have a swim, or walk along the coast. After my arrival, I went to have a walk by the sea, and so many things were coming back from my souvenirs. There is the special smell of the sea, the wind, the beautiful lanscape, it activated my memory and made me remember all the good times I had had there during my childhood, when we were going there with all the family before my parents divorced. I made me feel nostalgic for a moment.
Promenade path on the coast
The very special light that so many painters loved, many choosed to spend some time in Skagen, not far from there, to paint.
Typical wild landscape of the south of Sweden
A picturesque seaside resort, very popular in the begining of last century, with the "Grand hotel" on top.
The way to the beach
Perfect scenery to chill out and think during my evening promenades
My cousins were really sweet and they brought me in very nice places, we made some excursions on some islands around, or to other places of interest. I went to sail with them and their father.
Kullaberg's lighthouse, and just under a cargo, going from the Baltic sea to the North sea
Well, it was really a wonderful time. And we ate so well, it was awesome. I asked if we could eat a lot of fish, because it is so good there. We ate a lot of smoked fishes from the region, mackerels, herrings, and fresh lobster, soles... :P so good!
Special ice cream for August 1st, the swiss national day
On the last night, I went with my cousin (the girl) to visit a friend of her in another village. We went by bicycle, drove like an hour. Their parents had a so nice house... it's all new, designed by a swedish architect, and all the furniture is from a danish designer. I think that it must have costed a huge amount of money. But the result was so wonderful. I want a house like that, I'll take the same architect! :) The house was just beside the beach, and we took a good bottle of wine and had a drink on the sand, looking at the shooting stars. I saw five of them, and made some wishes. I was getting late, and I said we would have to come back, and the friend proposed that we would sleep altogheter in the same bed and have fun... hum... considering that we are cousins, we declined the offer and drove home.
I took the plane back yesterday, and now I have to work hard for my exams, 20 days left! :S
I'm definitely going back there soon!!

That sounds great. I wish I knew people in foreign countries where I could just travel to and stay with.
Great Pictures as well!
It is good to travel to famous and important places and see the historic sights, and it's also great to be able to just get away from your normal surroundings and relax. You did a bit of the former in Denmark and a lot of the latter in Sweden. What a perfect vacation!
Wow, that looks like a ton of fun and quite relaxing. :) Note to self: vacation with Charlie.
Good luck on your exams!! I'm sure you'll do fine.
I think I was the one suggesting Lousiana a while back and I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Haha, at my last job they had a huge photo of the same hill with the hotel on top. Took a moment until I realised why I recognised it.
I don't know if I mentioned it yet, but there were two Danish guys staying near our house and hanging out with us. WOW were they cute, I know what you're talking about.
